PopTinsel

Back in November volunteering backstage for my Mom's non-profit Life Long Dreams I met this fabulous girl named April. She started unpacking what appeared to be tinsel, you know... like for a Christmas tree. Then I saw some of the girls running around with tinsel in their hair and I thought, "awesome!" I went over and introducted myself to her and asked her how it all worked. She gave me the quick run down and told me how she is the owner of PopTinsel and how she came around to starting it. She was nice enough to put a few strands in my hair and I was imediatly in love! They are just tied in, so there is no damage to your hair but they add fun pops of color and sparkle. A few weeks later I was channel surfing and I came across the "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" and saw some chick, Adrianne Maloof, had them in her hair. I saw April a couple weeks later when she did my hair and I had to tell her. Well guess what... Adrianne is a client of Aprils. CRAZY!

I called April a couple weeks ago because I wanted to put some tinsel in for the AIDS walk I did. She told me she's between salons since she's opening her very own! Glam Salon in Las Vegas! I cannot wait. Anyway, she was nice enough to sell me a couple packs of tinsel because I couldn't decide what I wanted... of course! At first I struggled. Ling even offered to help me tie them in. I found out that using a water bottle, a comb, and some hair clips, I was able to do it!

So here they are in all their glory!

I didn't put too much in my hair when I took these pictures. I was in a hurry to get out the door, but I put lots more in the next day... I just forgot to take pictures.

Anyway, I love this stuff. Its so creative, fun, inexpensive and it doesn't damage your hair! Also, it comes in a huge variety of colors. You can even choose plain, or sparkly!!

BE Beauty Oasis - Easter Look

During my shopping spree at BE Outlet, I picked this baby up. I saw the jars and thought, "WOW!... this is gorgeous!" After I swatched these, I couldn't wait to wear them. I did have some difficulty getting Jade to blend without coming off. So... I actually replaced Jade with About Face's Acidic Reign instead. I also used the blush and gloss from the BE Urban Vibe kit with NYX lipliner in Dolly Pink. My boyfriend told me I looked "innocent." haha! I absolutely LOVED this look and I'm pretty sure I'm going to do it again, soon!

Thanks for stopping by!

Mary Kay Oil Free Eye Makeup Remover

Back in the early 90's my mom became a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant. I was in heaven! She had this totally awesome kit full of makeup/samples and I got to play in it every so often. She was doing really good and had recruited a lot of people when she decided that she needed to be home more with her family (all 6 of us kids). She was sad to see it go since she really enjoyed it and was really good at it.

While she was active, she recruited a lady named Billie. Billie had previously lived in Seattle and we would always play with her kids. She lived in Idaho a few years later when we were passing through on our way to Utah to see my family, so we stopped for a night. I was a young teenager at the time, so I was FINALLY allowed to wear makeup. We had a makeover night and it was so fun! MK was testing out colored mascaras at the time so she gave me some samples (guess they didn't really catch on) and my mom got me a little set of makeup. I was totally fascinated by the Oil Free Eye Makeup Remover. I looked like water and oil in a container and I was a little skeptical. As soon as that cotton ball touched my eye, I knew my life would never be the same again! Being a teenager with no income of my own, I wasn't afforded the luxury of purchasing it time and again, so I had to settle for baby oil (that was my moms alternative).

Around the age of 20, I rediscovered MK. A friend of mine knew a lady who was trying to build up her team. She called me and I told her, "YES!" I remembered how much fun it was. Well let me tell you... I'm not cut out for that. I have a really hard time calling people and sticking to a schedule. So eventually I let it slip. I kind of lost contact with Marci over the years but was reunited with her and her daughter, Alex, in November. I took my mom and sister to go get makeovers for my sisters birthday. I walked away with 3 things of eye makeup remover (along with numerous other goodies!), but ran out in about 5 months. I was just able to get some more from Alex. I didn't give her much notice but the sweet girl, hurried and got them together and met me across town. She even brought me a little present.
So cute!! I haven't used it yet, but it seems like a decent little travel set!

Now, for the eye makeup remover. This stuff is my HOLY GRAIL! Off and on through the years I haven't been able to get it and have had to settle for other products. I was always disappointed. This stuff takes off all kinds of makeup, effortlessly. I'm never tugging or pulling and I never have to use more than one cotton ball per eye. I would seriously go without wearing eye makeup if I couldn't get a hold of this.

Have you tried Mary Kay products? What do you think of them?

BE Haul!

Back in September I stumbled across a Bare Escentuals store here in Vegas. My bf was with me and I told him I HAD to go in! I love seeing all the little pots of eye colors. Our 6 month anniversary rolled around in November, and what did I get as a gift?... a gift card to BE! So, its been almost 6 months and I had yet to use it. I hate to drag him into stores when I'm looking at makeup because he could be waiting for a long time. Last week, I did the Las Vegas AIDS walk which was held by one of our outlet malls. After the walk, Ling and I decided to go browse around. And guess what I saw!... a BE OUTLET STORE!! I didn't know they even existed! We didn't go in, because I looked like poop after walking a few miles in the heat. I made it a priority to go this week. I got off work early on Friday, so I decided to go. Bad idea. Traffic was horrible and all the tourist were hitting up the mall in full force. I was so grumpy by the time I finished all my other shopping that I debated even stopping in. I finally found the store (it's in a weird little hidden area) and went in. AMAZING! They carry regular line stuff but of course they carry discounted stuff as well. I walked out of there spending a total of $65 (gc + my money). I think I got some pretty awesome deals! Here is what I got!

Face Fashion - Urban Vibe

Face Fashion - Classic Glam

Beauty Oasis Set

Angled Blush Brush
I had purchased this brush a few years ago to use with Warmth, and as you will see... I've worn it out. It was one of the things I HAD to have when I went shopping. The first time I got one, I paid more than TWICE what I paid on Friday. Plus it came in a cute little brush pouch.

Liner Shadow Quads II and III

And last, but not least... the GWP!

I got so much stuff and I couldn't be happier with my selection. Now I have to just keep myself from going there once a week!

What do you think of the colors and/or BE?
