There is a plan.

I've been a lazy blogger again.  I went to visit my boyfriends parents for the Thanksgiving weekend and didn't really take any pics of my looks.  I was afraid they'd walk in on my taking a bunch of self portraits... awkward!  I don' t know what my excuse was last week.  I was just lazy.  But now, my camera is at work, so I'll get it tomorrow and get back to taking photos.  End of excuses.

Now, I've been thinking a lot about the plan I have for my blog.  I really want to be more active and do some different things.  It will obviously contain my looks and some product reviews/swatches, but I really want to start getting Chinovi Cosmetics out there.  I'm hoping to launch the first quarter of 2012.  Sure, I could open something now... but I want to do this right!  So you'll all have to hang tight for a little bit longer.  I'm planning on getting pictures up of ALL the products I have made so I can allow people to "shop" for samples to test and blog about when I get closer to launch time.  I do understand how important the blogging community is for indie companies!

What else do I have planned for my blog?  Well, in May, I'm going to Hawaii for my friends wedding, and we are taking the opportunity to make it a vacation as well.. so guess what?... I'm going to be losing some weight.  I would like to post once a week about my progress.  I feel that you are more accountable when you have to report to other people.  I also plan to post information regarding Chinovi Cosmetics as well as continued makeup post (EOTD, reviews, etc).

Is there anything you guys would like to see?  Would you be interested in post about hair care and products as well?

Painters Tape: My New Best Friend!

After my crazy "Galaxy" eyes last night, I was feeling inspired.  I've also noticed that a big trend right now, is having a pop of color on the inner part of the eye... and I so wanted to give it a try!  So, this morning, I got out my blue painters tape, taped off the side (gives you a nice crisp edge) and went to work.

Crazy Face!

And a close up!

Really, it was much calmer than I originally thought it would be.  I tend to get carried away sometimes.. haha!  Sorry about the hairs going in to my eyes... I didn't have my hair pinned back.

Here's what I used:
Revlon Colorstay Foundation in Buff Chamois
Dinair and Stream Airbrush foundation
CC Blush in Naughty Girl
CC Bronzer
BE Mineral Veil

Smashbox Photo Finish Lip Primer
NYX JEP in Milk
Ulta Eyeshadow in Bone
Geek Chic Eyeshadow in The Spider
Geek Chic Eyeshadow in Solid Snake
Coastal Scents Hot Pot in ME07 (From Winterberry Pallet)
NYX Black Eyeliner
Inglots Gel Eyeliner in 77-Black
NYX Eyeshadow in Black
Cover Girl Lashblast Mascara in Very Black

ELF Lipstick in Gypsy
BE Buxom Lipgloss in Hope

On the news this morning they talked about a study that was done.  Around 1/3 of all bosses/employers do NOT like it when a woman comes to work with bright eye makeup or red lips.  What do you think about that?  I'm glad I work at a salon where I am encouraged to do those things!

I'll be out of town for Thanksgiving so I probably will not be posting while I'm away!  I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!

Weekly Challenge: Galaxy!

In my Facebook group, Never Too Much Sparkle, we have weekly challenges.  I LOVE them!  This week our theme is Galaxy!!  I only had a few days to decide what I was going to do and execute it since I leave on Wednesday to meet Ling's parents for the first time (can we say NERVOUS!?), and I'll be gone all weekend.  I'd rather them not know the crazy side of me... yet!

So I spent the last couple days thinking about what I could do.  There are always confetti stars... but that is so cliche, right?  And then there is your typical dark eye with glitter or something... and I didn't want to do those.  As I was watching TV tonight, I looked up at the painting above our TV.  Last year, for Christmas, Zach did a painting for Ling.  (Zach is my baby brother.  He's 21 and has down syndrome.  He is a great artist and very musically gifted as well.)  Lings zodiac is the Taurus, so that is what Zach's painting is based on.

I LOVE this painting.  I actually love all of his art... its in almost every room of our house (two in my room actually)!

So yea, that is my inspiration.  Now on to the look!

Okay, I'm a little lazy right now.  I have absolutly no other makeup on my face besides eye makeup and I only did one eye.

What I used:
Smashbox Photo Finish Eye Primer
NYX JEP's in Milk and Purple
Three different UD pallets.  The colors I used were: Fishnet, Honey, Peace, Uzi, and Ransom
NYX Glitter liner in Disco Queen
Cover Girl Lash Blast Mascara in Very Black

I think the glitter in the brows was overkill.. but hey... too late now!

What do you think?  I had a lot of fun trying to bring the painting to my eyelid!

Thanks for reading!

Glitter Fierce!

I recently became part of a group on Facebook that is dedicated to makeup, and sparkles and everything  I love!  Each week we have a challenge.  This week it was, "FIERCE!"

To me, fierce makes me think of RuPaul's Drag Race.  Those Queens are ALWAYS talking about being fierce and looking fierce.  So that is where I drew my inspiration today.  I've never done anything quite this crazy with my makeup.  And really, it isn't really crazy compared to some other blogs I've seen.

I honestly just threw this look together super quick this morning before I even showered or anything.  I knew I was going to end up washing it all off anyway, so why not roll out of bed and slap on some glitter, huh?!  That is also why I only did half my face.  I was being lazy since I knew it was going to come off as soon as I took some pictures and scared the boyfriend a little!

Here you go... FIERCE!  Werk it gurl!

Excuse all the lashes... I'm still learning to apply them, and these ones were really stiff.  ;(

Mascara got a little wonky... oops!

What I used:
CC Eyeshadow in Magic for upper lid and cheek contour
CC Eyeshadow in Poison for lower lid, lower lashline, and eyebrows
Old Aromaleigh and Taylor Made Minerals glitters all mixed up and all over the lid.  Lower lid has a pink and yellow, upper lid has purple and teal, and lips have purple and pink.
I used two sets of lashes, both were missing the packaging, but I think one set is ELF and the other is Fantasy Maker.
I used Sally Girl Sparkle Effects Gel Adhesive for Glitter on the eyes and a clear gloss on the lips to hold glitter.
Cover Girl Lash Blast Mascara
Wet n Wild Mega Liner
NYX JEP's in Milk and Lime
CC Blush is Naughty Girl

I know, this is a jumbled mess... but I'm in a super huge hurry and I wanted to post this before I forgot what I used.

Whats your favorite way to use glitter?  My favorite way is really in nail polish, glitter tattoos and as eyeliner!

Peace!

Geek Chic Swatches.

Since the closing of TheSheSpace, I hadn't really branched out and tried other MMU companies.  I decided I need to move on and accept that TSS is gone.  :(  I've been browsing around for a few weeks and I came across Geek Chic Cosmetics.  I love the way their website is laid out... so easy to navigate, full of fun colors and totally witty!

It took about 1 1/2 weeks for the day I ordered to the day the product arrive, not bad.

What did I purchase?
I got a full size of "The Spider" since it was the color of the month and pretty cheap!
I also ordered 2 samples... "Sane Inside Insanity" and "Solid Snake."
AND... I received a FREE sample of "Drood."

Here is what they look like.  *Swatched over NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk.*

My hand is pretty dry... yuck.  I apologize!

I think the colors are very beautiful.  Its nice to find great colors that aren't all sparkle!  My favorites are hands down, Sane inside Insanity and Solid Snake.

I will definitely be ordering from them again!!

Quick Look!

My boss texted me at 1:30 this morning to see if I wanted to come work today.  Of course I didn't get it until I woke up... so I was a wee bit rushed this morning.  I put this look together rather quickly but was very happy with it, aside from the wonky eyeliner job.  I hope you like it!

I didn't have any lip product on... sorry!

Here is what I used:
Revlon Colorstay Foundation-Buff Chamois
Stream Airbrush Foundation-F05M
CC Blush-Thankful
CC Bronzer
BE Mineral Veil

Eyes:
Palladio Primer
Inglots Eyeshadows-52, Shine25, Pearl393, and Shine30.
UD 24/7 Eyeliner-Crash
CC Brow-Brown
CoverGirl LashBlast-Very Black.

It was such an easy effortless look, but I thought it turned out really pretty!

I also managed to take some quick pictures with my babies...
Gidget!

Shinoda!
They are both Yorkies, but they look and act totally opposite!  They are the best babies!

I hope you liked the look... until next time,

Smoking UNLV look!

Wow!!... there has been a lot of activity on my blog in the last 24 hours!  It has totally inspired me to be a more faithful blogger.  Thank you everyone who has subscribed to me!!... I really appreciate it!

Tonight, Ling and I are going to the first game of the season for UNLV men's basketball (we have season tickets)!  The schools colors are red and grey, or white.. I don't know... but red is definitely a color.  I asked Ling this morning what color I should do my eyes tonight... "grey."  Lol!  I took that to mean silver.  A few months ago when Lady Gaga's album dropped there was a special party here in Vegas that I went to with a friend.  I create a collection of eyeshadows for my look that night.  I decided to wear them and create a  "grey" smokey eye.  I even was super successful at applying lashes.  I usually totally suck at applying lashes!

Here are the colors in the "Lady Gaga" collection:

I have on my "I <3 UNLV" shirt on.  It also has Hey Reb on it!!

Look at those lashes!
I totally love this look!!  I feel like I was finally able to pull off a true smokey eye!

What I used:
FACE:
Revlon Colorstay Foundation-150 Buff Chamois
Stream Airbrush Foundation-F05M
CC (Chinovi Cosmetics) Blush-Thankful
CC Bronzer-Unnamed

EYES:
Palladio Eye Primer

CC Eyeshadows-Amen, Gaga, and Speechless

Honovi and Isabel Have a Party!... and so does my hair!!

As some of you know, I decided to name my cosmetic company, Chinovi Cosmetics, after 2 of my 7 nieces... Chilali and Honovi (they are Native American names).  One of the collections I want to launch will be based on my family.  Each of my nieces, sister, and my mommy get to create a color.  So far 5 nieces and 1 sister have created their color.  I felt like honoring them, if you will, by wearing some of their colors yesterday.  Here's what I came up with!

Whole look, new hair color and all!

What I used:
FACE:
Revlon Colorstay Foundation in Buff Chamois
Stream Airbrush System Foundation in 05M
Chinovi Blush in Thankful
Chinovi Bronzer (unnamed)
BE Mineral Veil (I've yet to create a veil that is as good!)

EYES:
Palladio Eye Primer
Inglots AMC Gel Liner Matte in 76 (white) as base
Chinovi Eyeshadow in Honovi (pinky/purple)
Chinovi Eyeshadow in Isabel (blue/teal in crease)
Chinovi Eyeshadow in Party (wet lined for liner and dry for bottom liner)
Inglots AMC Gel Liner Matte in 77 (black) waterline
CoverGirl LashBlast Mascara in very black

Now on to my hair!

I LOVE working at the salon!  Whenever I feel like changing my hair or whatever, I have co-workers that can take care of it for me.  My wonderful boos, April, told me to come in for a day of pampering.  Most people don't like going to work on a day off, but I love to!  I had told her quite a few months ago, when I was employed elsewhere, that I want to one day put fuchsia in my hair!... yup... I'm crazy sometimes!  Just over a month ago, we put orange in for a halloween/fall event we had.  When that faded out we slapped on some RED pigment... straight out of the tube. (I would go to a professional before doing such a thing, though... you never know what crazy colors your hair might pull!)  That stuff stayed!... I washed it probably 15 times, and it just barely, BARELY faded at the ends.  So when I went in for my day of pampering, April surprised me.  I thought we were just putting more red on... but WHAT?... when my hair dried... it was a bit pink... and I LOVE it!

What do you think?

Egypt and Sour Patch Kids!

Its been a while since I posted. I don't know what excuse I can give beside, I've been lazy. I was hoping that when I left my other job, I wouldn't get too comfortable laying around and watching TV... that didn't happen. I'm tired of watching what seems like 20 hours of TV everyday. So today I decided to finally tackle some looks I've been wanting to create.

I've also been reading a lot... and I'm currently reading a book called "Cleopatra's Moon." Plus every Tuesday on the Planet Green channel they do Egypt Tuesdays!! So, that is where my inspiration comes from for this first look.
Here is what I used:
FACE
Revlon Colorstay Foundation: 320 True Beige (darker than my skin)
Stream Airbrush System: F06M foundation and Bronzer mixed together to get the shimmery gold and tan look
Chinovi Cosmetics bronzer (unnamed)

EYES
Palladio Eye Primer
NYX JEP: Pure Gold and Horseradish
Chinovi Cosmetics Eyeshadow: de'nial and preserve
E.L.F. Waterproof liquid eyeliner in black
Inglots Eyeliner Gel Matte in 77-Black
NYX Eyeshadow in Sahara
CoverGirl LashBlast Mascara in very black

There was no way I was going to wander around with that look on... people would probably think I was on drugs or something... so I washed it all off (1 washcloth and tons of cotton balls) and created another look.

Last week I was starting to get the itch to create a look, but I had no inspiration. I posted on Facebook asking what I should do, and my friend Crystal Scary-Monster suggested I do a look based on CANDY since it's Halloween time. I thought for a couple days about it, "do I go get sequins and do an over-the-top Skittles look?" "Do I base it on the actual candy or should it be based on the wrapper?" I was going nuts trying to decide on something, until I came up with this next look!

Who DOESN'T love Sour Patch Kids? And especially the watermelon ones?

This look was different for me since I ALWAYS put black or another dark color on my waterline. But Sour Patch Kids don't have any black, so I ditched it this time.

Here is what I used:
FACE
Revlon Colorstay Foundation in 240 Medium Beige
Stream Airbrush System foundations in F03M and F05M
Chinovi Cosmetics Blush in Naughty Girl

EYES
Palladio Eye Primer
NYX JEPs in Milk and Lime
Chinovi Cosmetics Eyeshadows in Candy Hearts, Fun Day and Sugar Apple
NYX Eyeshadow in Sahara
E.L.F. Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in Black
CoverGirl LashBlast Mascara in Very Black

LIPS
NYX Lipliner in Fuchsia
Wet N Wild Lipstick in 901B
E.L.F. Lipstick in Sociable

And my hair... yes I got it done AGAIN! Thats the perks of working in a salon! A couple weeks ago we were getting ready to have our Fall Event so we decided to dye my hair back to its originial color (dark dark brown) and then throw in some ORANGE chunks!! If anyone is in need of getting their hair done, call the salon to book your appointment!

I hope you all enjoyed these looks! I enjoyed creating them!! Hopefully I can keep it up... Ness
