Blog Sale!

Oh, HEY!!  Yup, I'm still here!  I've got a blog sale for ya'll!!  These colors haven't been getting any use from me so I'm offering them up to all of you!  There are 304 full size jars of About Face/The She Space, and a bunch of other samples.  Samples have all put put into 2x2 ziploc bags for better storage except for the Aromaleigh, and Archetype Cosmetics samples, which are in their original baggies..  Most colors have only been swatched or used 1-2 times.  A few About Face colors have been used multiple times but still have plenty of product in them... some were even combined with their samples.

About the About Face/The She Space colors, I bought them, rejarred them since I couldn't stand the three gram jars with no sifters at the time.  I also applied magnets to the lids and put them on magnetic dry erase boards to I could display them ALWAYS!  I assume the magnets can be cut off with a blade.

I will calculate shipping when invoicing.  Email me at vwarriner@gmail.com with you color choices and I will paypal invoice you!  Also, I will cross off colors and they are paid for.

About Face/The She Space FULL SIZES:
I believe I bought them all for around $2.50 a piece plus new jars w/ sifters and magnets.  I'm selling them for $2.00 each.

Urban Decay Hautelook Haul and Look

I finally caved and ordered from Hautelook (invite link) when Urban Decay was on.

UD was one of the first major makeup purchases I made.  I remember my friend Diane (who was going to beauty school at the time) came out to visit me and she had an UD pallet and some Bare Minerals.  I was in love.  Before, I was using regular drug store stuff and wasn't really thrilled with what it was doing for/to me.  Diane also was a miracle worker and made me look gorgeous! My next paycheck was spent at Ulta on BE and UD.  I love the vibrancy of UD colors and the pigmentation is amazing.  I learned to mix colors I wouldn't normally mix together... you don't always have to play it safe with using colors all in the same family.

Its been a few years and I've branched out and bought many other brands since.  I do love me some UD, but I've since gone more indie.  I decided it was time to purchase form UD again.  The prices were so freaking amazing, how could I not?!

Here is what I got:

Tinted Moisturizer in Bodyguard ($3)
Liquid Liner in Ecstasy ($2)
24/7 Liners in Dime and Baked ($2/each)

I spent $9+shipping.  One UD eyeliner retails at $18.  My guess is that they are changing packaging and/or discontinuing these items, but still... its a steal!

I love the 24/7 pencils and the liquid liner.  I did not like the tinted moisturizer.  The moisturizer made me break out terribly and it was too dark.  I thought medium/light would work for me since I'm not completely pale.  I'll be seeing if my niece would like to try it since she is a bit darker than me and her skin might agree with the formula.

Here is a very quick look I did using most of the products.
Please excuse those eyebrows.  :(

obviously Bodyguard it too dark on me.

What I used:
UD Bodyguard Tinted Moisturizer all over face
CS Neutral pallet all over eye (1 color)
UD Ecstasy eyeliner on upper lid
UD Dime eyeliner on lower waterline
CG Lash Blast mascara

What has been your favorite Hautelook purchase?  How about your favorite Urban Decay product?

Clarisonic... I love you!

For months I've been saying how I would love to get a Clarisonic... but seeing as they start at over $100... I couldn't get myself to buy one.  Apparently, Ling does listen to me when I talk about these things because while we were out running errands the other day, he drove me over to Ulta and told me to go in there and get it.  So what'd I do?... I went in and got myself a Mia 2!!

Unfortunately, it came with Philosophy's Purity, which drys me out like crazy.

Before I could open it up, I made myself finally create a lightbox (which I've been wanting to do for some time, really).  So, all the pics were taking in my new contraption.

I need to play around with the lighting and settings on my camera, but I thought it looked better than my old back drop.

Anyway, back to the Clarisonic...

It's AMAZING!  Totally worth every penny already.  My face is so soft and smooth and even the redness on my cheeks has calmed down.  I've used it 5 times (AM and PM) since getting it and I'm amazed that I'm seeing results already.  Yesterday, I didn't have to put a liquid foundation on before putting on my airbrush makeup... it really has reduced the redness.  I've also noticed that I haven't gotten any wonky acnes either.  I usually have at least one.

Overall... BEST beauty purchase I've ever made!!

Chinovi and alien hair!

Hey guys!  First and foremost... HAPPY NEW YEARS!  I hope everyone had a great time celebrating this last month with all the holidays!

This is going to just be a quick post.

I know I had mentioned previously, that I am creating my own makeup company.  I decided to let Chinovi has it's own blog so this could remain my personal one.  If you are interested in follow my other blog for updates regarding my company, specials and opening, please follow me on Chinovi's blog.

Now, on to fun things!!

I do have a few looks to post... I just haven't had time to edit down all the photos.  But here is a funny one for you.  My friend Jeremy loves watching Ancient Aliens(as do we), and we all love Giorgio Tsoukalos' insane hair (it gets bigger every season and his face gets oranger).
Dreamy, right?

Anyway... I told Jeremy a few weeks ago that I would totally do his hair on NYE to mimic Giorgio's... and here is what we came up with...

I don't know why Ling took photos from this most unflattering angle.
I had fun and he had great hair... it was easy peasy... and VERY flammable.

Does anyone else her watch Ancient Aliens?  I'm not sure I really believe most of the stuff they say on there... but it is always entertaining!

There is a plan.

I've been a lazy blogger again.  I went to visit my boyfriends parents for the Thanksgiving weekend and didn't really take any pics of my looks.  I was afraid they'd walk in on my taking a bunch of self portraits... awkward!  I don' t know what my excuse was last week.  I was just lazy.  But now, my camera is at work, so I'll get it tomorrow and get back to taking photos.  End of excuses.

Now, I've been thinking a lot about the plan I have for my blog.  I really want to be more active and do some different things.  It will obviously contain my looks and some product reviews/swatches, but I really want to start getting Chinovi Cosmetics out there.  I'm hoping to launch the first quarter of 2012.  Sure, I could open something now... but I want to do this right!  So you'll all have to hang tight for a little bit longer.  I'm planning on getting pictures up of ALL the products I have made so I can allow people to "shop" for samples to test and blog about when I get closer to launch time.  I do understand how important the blogging community is for indie companies!

What else do I have planned for my blog?  Well, in May, I'm going to Hawaii for my friends wedding, and we are taking the opportunity to make it a vacation as well.. so guess what?... I'm going to be losing some weight.  I would like to post once a week about my progress.  I feel that you are more accountable when you have to report to other people.  I also plan to post information regarding Chinovi Cosmetics as well as continued makeup post (EOTD, reviews, etc).

Is there anything you guys would like to see?  Would you be interested in post about hair care and products as well?

Painters Tape: My New Best Friend!

After my crazy "Galaxy" eyes last night, I was feeling inspired.  I've also noticed that a big trend right now, is having a pop of color on the inner part of the eye... and I so wanted to give it a try!  So, this morning, I got out my blue painters tape, taped off the side (gives you a nice crisp edge) and went to work.

Crazy Face!

And a close up!

Really, it was much calmer than I originally thought it would be.  I tend to get carried away sometimes.. haha!  Sorry about the hairs going in to my eyes... I didn't have my hair pinned back.

Here's what I used:
Revlon Colorstay Foundation in Buff Chamois
Dinair and Stream Airbrush foundation
CC Blush in Naughty Girl
CC Bronzer
BE Mineral Veil

Smashbox Photo Finish Lip Primer
NYX JEP in Milk
Ulta Eyeshadow in Bone
Geek Chic Eyeshadow in The Spider
Geek Chic Eyeshadow in Solid Snake
Coastal Scents Hot Pot in ME07 (From Winterberry Pallet)
NYX Black Eyeliner
Inglots Gel Eyeliner in 77-Black
NYX Eyeshadow in Black
Cover Girl Lashblast Mascara in Very Black

ELF Lipstick in Gypsy
BE Buxom Lipgloss in Hope

On the news this morning they talked about a study that was done.  Around 1/3 of all bosses/employers do NOT like it when a woman comes to work with bright eye makeup or red lips.  What do you think about that?  I'm glad I work at a salon where I am encouraged to do those things!

I'll be out of town for Thanksgiving so I probably will not be posting while I'm away!  I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!

Weekly Challenge: Galaxy!

In my Facebook group, Never Too Much Sparkle, we have weekly challenges.  I LOVE them!  This week our theme is Galaxy!!  I only had a few days to decide what I was going to do and execute it since I leave on Wednesday to meet Ling's parents for the first time (can we say NERVOUS!?), and I'll be gone all weekend.  I'd rather them not know the crazy side of me... yet!

So I spent the last couple days thinking about what I could do.  There are always confetti stars... but that is so cliche, right?  And then there is your typical dark eye with glitter or something... and I didn't want to do those.  As I was watching TV tonight, I looked up at the painting above our TV.  Last year, for Christmas, Zach did a painting for Ling.  (Zach is my baby brother.  He's 21 and has down syndrome.  He is a great artist and very musically gifted as well.)  Lings zodiac is the Taurus, so that is what Zach's painting is based on.

I LOVE this painting.  I actually love all of his art... its in almost every room of our house (two in my room actually)!

So yea, that is my inspiration.  Now on to the look!

Okay, I'm a little lazy right now.  I have absolutly no other makeup on my face besides eye makeup and I only did one eye.

What I used:
Smashbox Photo Finish Eye Primer
NYX JEP's in Milk and Purple
Three different UD pallets.  The colors I used were: Fishnet, Honey, Peace, Uzi, and Ransom
NYX Glitter liner in Disco Queen
Cover Girl Lash Blast Mascara in Very Black

I think the glitter in the brows was overkill.. but hey... too late now!

What do you think?  I had a lot of fun trying to bring the painting to my eyelid!

Thanks for reading!
