A Year in the Life of my Hair

So a year ago, Valentines Day 2009 I felt like I needed a change.  So, I went and had red highlights put into my hair.  I loved it!  They were super dark so they are a little hard to see.  My hair was about to the bottom of my shoulder blades

Then, a month later I was tired of the length and the red was starting to fade out real ugly, so... Went to a Paul Mitchell focus salon and I had it chopped... seriously chopped...
This was on my way home from the Beauty Salon.  You can't see the red well since it was taken with my cell phone.

This was the beginning of April when I went sailed in Phoenix with my brothers family. You can see the red a little better. And yes, I wear glasses and I do the double glasses thing with my sunglasses... a girl has to be able to see, right?

The May rolled around.  Having a disconnected bob is a PAIN to grow back.  Plus I have this horrible cowlic on my left side at my neck so my hair wasn't laying right and I was not enjoying my hair anymore.  Plus the red was fading out again so I figured it was time to dye it again.  This time I went closer to it's natural color.  Its pretty dark brown.
This picture was a couple days after I went to the salon.

This picture was a week or so ago.

After that I left the color and just got trims as needed.  The dye was pretty close to my natural color which was nice because I didn't need to touch up the color!

Now, I am a person who likes to keep doing differant things to their hair.  So going from May until February without doing anything except trimming, is a big accomplishment.  My hair has been growing, slowly but surely.  It again wasn't laying right and I wanted to bob to connect more.  And once again, I wanted some color or pizazz to my hair.  So, I have this friend going to beauty school and she did it for me.  I love it!!  I think we'll be going in and making the red more vibrant, maybe a little more purple or something??... who knows!

And that's it.  Thats my hair over the year.  It's been through a lot... lol!  Hopefully I don't bald early due to over proccessing my hair!

Thanks for visiting!

Depotting Urban Decay Primer Potion

I was geared up and ready to finally go get some more UDPP or Too Faced Shadow Insurance when I remembered coming across some tutorials on how to depot UDPP.  I had tried everything under the sun that was less than $10 in the mean time and nothing really works as well as UDPP and TFSI.  So, I took my genie tube of UDPP, a towel, a knife and a old glass jar, and I sliced that thing open.  *It would have been much easier had I been using a sharper knife*  Holy Moley there was a lot of stuff still in there.  I must say, the design of UDPP is such a waste.  I would never have known about all the remaining PP had I not sliced it open.  I fit it all into what I would assume is a 10 gram jar.  I guess paying $18 isn't so bad if you make sure to get it all out! Good luck to anyone trying and make sure to be careful!!

Coastal Scents 88 Palette

I'd heard a lot of good things about the Coastal Scents 88 palette so when I got an email one day from CS saying it was 20% off, I ordered.  I almost ordered the shimmer palette too, but decided to try the regular one first.  I LOVE IT!!  And it's less than $20 for 88 eye shadows that are highly pigmented.

Here are three looks I've done this week using mainly the CS palette.

I hope you enjoy these looks!! Thanks!

A Gaga inspired look.

So I went shopping yesterday to get my bf a bday present, but I got myself a present instead. I got the MAC Viva Glam lipstick in Gaga! I’m a huge fan of Lady Gaga. I know she isn’t for everyone, but she is a genius imo. Anyway, I only own a couple of MAC products and this I had to have.  Plus, proceeds of the sale of the lipstick helps in the fight against AIDS.  So that’s what on my lips. I figured I had to do my eyes a little funky since my lips were along the lines of Gaga.

Eyes:
UDPP
TSS Defied Certainty
TSS Eerie Echo
TSS Drops of Moonstone
Liquid eyeliner black
Liquid glitter eyeliner
UD 24/7 eyeliner in Zero
CG Lashblast mascara

I had fun creating this look. I will definitely do again for going out!
…..GaGa, ooh laa laa….

Lion King

My friend called me a few days ago to say he had an extra ticket to see the Lion King tonight (the joys of living in Vegas). I was also asked by one of the girls on The She Space Forum to do a look using Two Left Feet. I must say, it is a color I wasn't very thrilled about. But OMG... its gorgeous. Great for this African desert look.

I used:
L'Oreal De-Crease primer
TSS Two Left Feet
TSS Sunflowers and Sugar
UD Baked eyeshadow
NYX Black eyeshadow
UD 24/7 pencil in Zero
Covergirl Lash Blast mascara

The She Space/About Face Haul

I got my second order from TSS yesterday. When your jars come they are in 3 gram jars and packed full. I like to use a sifter, so I transfer them all over to 5 gram sifter jars. I also keep them all stored on my magnetic dry erase board, so I added magnets to the lid. I love Heather's colors. They are truly amazing. I bought a few of these without even trying samples. There are a couple that I don't know what I will do with them, but 98% of them are fabulous!!

I know I said it before but if you go to The She Space and place an order, all full size jars are $2.50 and when she post limited addition clearence colors, they are only $2.00. About Face will only be around until the last jar is sold. No more batches are being made. So hurry up and get over there!!

Philosophy: purity made simple

My skin has been really dry lately and I haven't been able to get it under control. I was flipping channels last week and came across QVC showing some philosophy. Naturally, I was curious. I watched this lady in real time wash off all her heavy makeup... including tons of eye makeup. Intriguing!! So, I went to Sephora and picked up their small bottle of purity, just to try it. I tried it last night for the first time and was impressed. I then put on my moisturizer (Nu Skin moisture restore) and went to bed. Usually when I wake up in the morning, I'm completely dry again. Not this morning! It was awesome! My skin felt super soft too!!

I used the purity again tonight along with my moisturizer, and I love it! I definitely recommend it!!
